Pros: How friendly Ivo was and how accomodating and accessible to our needs

Sleep like a baby, eat like a king @ cosy Lovna Hut

Pros: We had a great time here! Ivo and the other staffmembers are very friendly and make you feel at home. The Lovna hut is beautiful and has a lot of character. We stayed for two nights in a private three person bedroom outside the main hut. It is a nice 30 min walk through the forest from the Lovna hut to the 7-lake lift. We walked the 7-lake route the day after we arrived, so we could start early. Afterwards we were very tired and Ivo made us a great dinner. We slept like babies and ate like kings. A perfect retreat from hectic city life. We will definitely come back here! And hope to see Ivo and Ruff the dog again :)

Pros: great location in the middle of the forest! Ideal as a base for hiking the seven lakes area. very kind staff working the hut, with very delicious food

Perfect retreat

Pros: Amazing location, just be aware you can’t get there by car, not to speak of public transport, but you‘ll have to walk (e.g., from the lift, around 45 min). The host Vincenzo was very nice and welcoming, even though we don’t share any language. I liked the dogs and cats around. The chimney fire in the evenings was a blessing. Food was delicious and for reasonable prices. The place is very simple but cozy and reasonably clean.

Cons: If you copy the address into Googlemaps, it leads you to the wrong place. The location on the booking maps is more or less correct, but it‘s generally a bad maps for navigation. So ask ahead to be sent the correct location.

Pros: This is a truly rugged nature hut, makes you feel like you're out of time... Everything is very simple - looks almost crumbling but holds well in the summer rainstorms :) Hosts don't speak English but are very accomodating, and the Bulgarian bean soup is delicious. If you are in an \

Pros: We had a lovely experience. We were looking to sleep in a cabin in nature and get a different experience then hotels or apartments and that's exactly what we got. The staff was super nice and the dinner was excellent. We had a great time.

Cons: Be ready there is no really shower. We enjoy the atmosphere so we didn't care...

Pros: The hut is in a beautiful location, we had a 4*4 so we coumd approach it by car. On the first night (Thursday) we were the only guests so we had some nice talk with Boris with the help of Google Translate. Next evening many Bulgarian travelers arrived and we had great chats, local wine and campfire so it was really a great experience overall :)

Cons: There is some garbage and old things that are not needed anymore around the property that ruins the atmosphere a little bit.

A Paradise in the Mountains!

Pros: We really loved staying at the Lovna Hut. Although it was an adventure getting there, being surrounded by a beautiful forest, kind people, and hardworking, friendly staff was worth it. (The staff members can also organise taxis for you to get from the Ski Lift to Sapareva Banya or Dupnica Train Station, however you must walk or take a bumpy drive from the Ski Lift to the Lovna Hut. There are signs to Lovna to help hikers though.) I would highly recommend this accommodation. Staying here honestly immerses you in the experience of being in the Rila mountains. And the staff really try their best to help accommodate your needs.

Awesome Authentic Hut Experience

Pros: Awesome forest surrounding, easy and close to reach, authentic atmosphere, very clean room, great food for reasonable prices, bonfire at night.

Highly recommend

Pros: Boris went out of his way to make us feel at home. We struggled to find the hut v late on Saturday night (flight delayed) so arrived on Sunday and he was very accommodating. Great company and made us delicious meals. Raf the dog is also very cuddling and there’s cats about too, though we didn’t get to meet them. Lovna has great character and we’d highly recommend.

Cons: It’s a mountain hut so don’t expect luxury. All adds to the character. There is a flush toilet and a hot water shower but it is basic.
