Old, but with an honest breakfast

Pros: The city is very charming and don´t offer many choices for hotels. This one was old, but also a little bit rustic, considering the city atmosphere. The breakfast, even though without many choices was very tastefull.

Cons: The matress was a little bit wavy and not permmit a complete sleep. Another point was the shower with no curtains or plastic/glass box, what means that is impossible to take a bath and not to wet the intire space in the bathroom.

Pros: It was a nice, cool place to stay out of the heat of the summer. The room was lovely (junior suite), and had so many beautiful windows to look out upon the street, gardens and hills - and in particular, the birds dancing through the warm air at dusk. We like the location at the top of the street as it was a bit removed from the main section (very close walk) and quiet. Parking was simple & easily available in this location. The lady at reception was so welcoming and kind! A breath of fresh air since we found friendliness can be a bit hard to find here.

Cons: A little bit of fabric to cover the window in the bathroom would have been nice, although not sure anyone at the windows overlooking could have seen in - possibly just my modesty made me feel uncomfortable to shower.

Pros: Very nice hosts,helped us with a driver as we travelled without a car,treated us so well and friendly. Very good food and wine,amazing historical feeling in the building and town. Nature that surrounds Melnik is also wonderful. An unforgettable stay,wish we could have stayed more nights!

Pros: Large and clean rooms, very friendly staff, comfortable beds. Because of the location it is very quiet at night. Great value for money.

Cons: Very outdated bathrooms and some of the electrical plugs/wiring looked dodgy. The whole place could do with a refurb.

Pros: The unassuming hospitable lady who seems to work day and night made us feel welcome and cared for. Our room was comfortable and the hotel was well located in this little village. The food in the restaurant was delicious.

Cons: Our room was a little tired and ideally could do with a spruce up but it this didn't alter the fact that it was comfortable. The shower was quite small but everything worked so again, not a big deal.

Perfect location and delicious food

Pros: Despot Slav is very climatic place perfectly located between Wine Museum and Kordopulov's House. Rooms are clean and cozy. The real highlight of our stay was restaurant with delicious food and wine. We spend our evenings sitting on the restaurant's balcony and enjoying beautiful view.

Cons: Nothing :)

Recharging getaway

Pros: Great location and easy to park near by. Very friendly staff, happy to help if you need anything. Comfortable mattress and very quiet during the night. Great value for money. Breakfast was nice except for the coffee

Cons: Not a problem for me, but not advisable for elderly people due to steep staircase. Espresso is extra charge at breakfast - no issue but it wasn’t good. Lack of yogurt at breakfast - something very Bulgarian, it should always be offered.

Pleasant hotel with everything you need.

Pros: Nice comfortable room with everything you need for a short stay, comfortable bed, hot water in the shower, a kettle and good Wi-Fi signal. It is within walking distance of everything and breakfast included was a bonus.

Pros: The rooms were very nice, the restaurant works until 23 a d the breakfast was very good
