Set in a quiet area amidst the pine trees and only a 4-minute drive away from the centre of Borovets, the wooden Villas Jagoda & Malina offer a restaurant homemade Bulgarian meals. Guests can also make use of a sauna. All villas Yagoda have a kitchenette and some also feature a sauna. All villas Malina are set on 2 floors and have a living room with a sofa and a TV, a kitchen with a dining area. Cosy glamping in a forest setting

Pros: The location is really peaceful and it was nce to be in a more natural setting than in the town. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Paths, balconies and steps were cleared of snow very promptly. The cabins are clean and cosy and there was an endless supply of hot water (for the teen girls!). There were plenty of towels and the cabin was serviced duringthe week with all bedlinens changed. The sauna facilities were very nice. The restaurant was fine - better for breakfast than evening meal for us

Cons: I would have liked the kitchens to be just a little better stocked - 1 or 2 bowls, a toaster, a medium sized saucepan. As we didn't have a car there it would have been nice to have had a more frequent bus service to Borovets in the evenings rather than relying on (expensive) taxis.

A cozy forest stay with good links to slopes

Pros: We stayed in Malina number 6 and we loved it. The staff was lovely and helpful; the villa itself was clean, warm, beds were comfy and the furniture looked like new. Not sure if it's a new villa or it was recently refurbished. In the kitchen, there was a table with 6 chairs, a small fridge, a kettle, a mini oven and hobs + some cutlery and cookware. There were 2 morning shuttles to the slopes (at 8:30am and 9am) and 2 options for return in the afternoon (at 4pm and 4:30pm). The spa area was also a great way to relax after a day at the slopes - just remember to pre-book at the reception as the place is quite small (max 12 ppl). We only tried the restaurant once for late lunch but the food was fantastic and service was quick.

Cons: The only thing is that both bedrooms had 2 single beds and we expected at least one double bed. Another minor inconvenience - it's really dark in the staircase area and we needed a torch to see the steps as it's quite steep.

Pros: Breakfast was a bit limited. But the evening meals were lovely; we liked the pizza.

Cons: Pine cones and pieces of ice kept falling from the pine trees outside onto the villa, making a lot of noise as they hit the roof. I couldn't sleep properly.

Pros: It was really quiet and beautifully located in the forrest. The sauna in our villa was nice.

Cons: Everything else - the hot tub, the SPA, is located away from the villa and you have to walk in your bathrobe in minus degrees.
