Beautiful view and calm atmosphere

Pros: I liked the view from my balcony and very calm atmosphere. I think I was the only guest on that night as it was very quiet. Very good location to explore the monastery, it is 25 min by car, also Rila village itself is nice and authentic place to stay.

Comfortable stay with a lovely host family

Pros: Family run hotel which made it very cosy and welcoming. They were very hospitable and took the time to explain everything to us despite the language barrier. Comfortable and spacious rooms. Grandma runs the restaurant and her dishes were delicious. We had a really good stay!

Cons: Would have liked a kettle in the room for tea/coffee but these can be bought in the restaurant.

Cons: Dinner options were a bit limited - I stayed midweek off season (in March) so was the only person staying
