Pros: Warm even though it was cold outside, comfortable bed and good shower. Big balcony overlooking a stream in the back was an unexpected bonus! Location right down the road from the monastery was perfect, and the restaurant was good.

Cons: Wifi was on-and-off

Pros: Perfect spot for visiting the Rila Monastery. Room was exactly as described, lots of storage for all our motorcycle gear. Balcony and the sound of the stream was lovely. Parking right is in front of the hotel. It's in the mountains about 5km from the Monastery. We had a meal at the restaurant and it was really enjoyable. The staff were great and attentive. Would definitely stay again.

A Nice Hotel close to Rila (Rilska) Monastery

Pros: We have stayed at this hotel several times, so we thought we knew what to expect. However, since the last time that we were there they have upgraded with free WiFi, the ability to take Credit Cards and also some upgrades to the rooms. We stayed in rooms 101 and 102. The food in the restaurant is typical for a Bulgarian village and I always enjoy their Shopska Salad. Although the staff is limited in their ability to speak English, the signs and menus in the hotel are all translated into English (sometimes not very well translated). If you are going to visit the Monastery, this hotel is very close by. The \

Cons: In room 101 the curtains are not wide enough to completely cover the windows.

Great value for money in a beautiful part of Bulgaria.

Pros: The room was basic but very clean with a lovely balcony overlooking the river. The restaurant was very good, especially the locally caught trout. There was plenty of parking and it was very well located for the Rila Monastery and various hikes. There is an (unmanned) information centre opposite the hotel which gives ideas for local hikes.

Cons: A kettle in the room would have been nice.

Pros: located next to a small river in the middle of the forest,makes it an adequate spot for relaxing after a long day in the Balkan streets.It is next to Rila monastery(6 minutes by car) and offers a restaurant with delicious and cheap food.
