Green Cube Capsule Hostel

Convenient, clean and central hostel.

Pros: Lovely clean hostel within walking distance from the central bus/ railway station. Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds with curtains, light and charging socket. Dedicated locker. Clean toilets and showers. Well equipped kitchen for self catering. The staff are always so lovely and helpful. Shout out to the night guy who helped me with a taxi problem.

Cons: The room was very hot for me personally.

Worth the stay!

Pros: Not very far away from the bus station as well as the railway station so that was very convenient for my travels

Pros: Friendly staff and clean hostel. Very close to bus station. And the older male receptionist is really friendly, letting me store my luggage’s while I wait for my bus to depart

Pros: It's in the heart of Sofia. Reasonable price and the staff are amazing and nice. I was here 2 years ago and I choose to be back because of the very good and satisfied experience.

A pleasant surprise!

Pros: I have been to hostels all over Europe, but this so far has to be the best one. The lady at the front desk was so kind and helpful. The rooms were warm and cozy (considering the harsh winter outside). Everything was clean and looking fresh. I was provided with a towel and a locker for free. I was in a room for four and coincidentally or not, I was paired only with other girls. Which was great for me. The location is good. Slept like a baby!

Cons: I think there were people from outside coming in and lurking around during the day. Lucky, the rooms are locked with a card, so they can't access. But perhaps the outside door needs to be locked during the day too.

Wonderful stay.

Pros: Beds were very comfortable and I loved the curtains. Heating worked quite well. Location ideal: between city center and train- and busstation, all in walking distance, but busstop and metro were closeby.

Cons: The hostel wasn’t full when I was there, but it seems to me that the number of bathrooms and showers is a bit small.

Pros: Very good of thinking to install the cube of sleeping beds, you have a privacy event you are together with others in the room.

Pros: The idea of the hostel is excellent. The concept is very good, well thought out, and well structured. The location is great, the spaces are functional, and it is clear that the project was originally designed with care. The receptionist was polite, helpful, and professional, which made a very good first impression. Overall, the hostel has huge potential and a very interesting concept.

Cons: Unfortunately, it is clear that there is a general lack of maintenance and attention to detail, which significantly affects the experience. \t•\tSeveral lights are not working in both common areas and rooms. \t•\tThe privacy curtains on the bunk beds, although a great idea, are poorly installed, falling down, or broken. \t•\tWe found the beds dirty, with personal items left by previous guests (such as earphones), and the bed sheets were visibly dirty, including blood stains. \t•\tDespite signs indicating that smoking is not allowed, we found cigarette butts hidden in the corners of the room, showing a failure in cleaning. \t•\tIn the kitchen area, some hooks and supports are broken, making it difficult to hang clothes or towels. \t•\tThe sofa is worn out and sunken, with no maintenance, giving the impression of heavy use despite the hostel being relatively new. \t•\tIn the bathrooms, there are several issues: \t•\tShower curtains falling down \t•\tNo bath mat, causing water to flood the floor \t•\tToilet seats loose or broken Additionally, there were very uncomfortable situations with the cleaning staff, mainly due to poor communication and lack of respect for guests’ privacy: \t•\tA staff member entered the bathroom without knocking while I had just finished showering and was completely naked. Even after realizing the situation, she remained looking at me for a few seconds before leaving. \t•\tOn another occasion in the morning, a cleaner entered the room without warning or asking permission while we were changing clothes, replaced the bed sheets on one bunk bed, and left without saying anything. I understand that cleaning staff have an important job and that many guests do not take proper care of shared spaces. However, knocking, announcing entry, and respecting privacy should be basic standards.
