Excellent for breakfast and sound sleep

Pros: Quietness, good mattresses for a sound sleep. Excellent traditional breakfast: fried dough with big local cheese portions and confiture, cheese pie with yogurt, eggy bread.

Pros: The hotel is located right in the heart ofShiroka Luka with a wonderful authentic atmosphere. The vuilding is traditional,very charming ,and gives a real sense of the Rodope spirit. The rooms are clean,comfortable,and cozy. The stuffis welcoming,friendly,and always ready to help. The restaurant offers delicious traditiinal dishes,freshly prepared,and the breakfast was very generous and super tasty. Perfecy place for a peacful and authentic mountain experience.

Incredible week in Shiroka Laka with Hotel Kalina

Pros: We spent a lovely week here. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially of our young daughter. We ate in the hotel most nights for dinner and they made that very easy, letting us pay at the end of our stay rather than nightly. The room was very large and comfortable if a bit basic; other than Friday night when the town was unusually busy it was very quiet and a lovely temperature with the windows open. Quaint and very traditional town and well-placed for exploring the region more fully.

Cons: Breakfast is a single option every day and is very repetitious - some form of bread with blueberry jam and cheese usually. There is no option for choice and no fruit or really anything healthy provided for these meals. The food is delicious, but adding some basic fruits and choice would go a long way. I never thought I would write this, but the shower pressure is WAY too strong here. To turn on the shower you have to be extremely careful or the pressure is excruciatingly painful and the shower head will wildly spray the whole room. After a week here I almost had the knack of setting the water pressure and temperature appropriately.
